It is a challenging course over the iconic Taihape to Napier Road ... through rugged farmland and high country sheep stations suited to Merino farming. It features five major summits including climbs up Spooners Hill, Erewhon, Ngamatea Station, Gentle Annie and Blowhards, before a fast descent over 30km into Ohiti Road, on the outskirts of Hastings, and a finish atop the Ohiti Berg, 1.5km along Ohiti Rd.
